In 1994, Dr. Albers was named the “Weclew Honorary Fellowship” (FAGD) from the Academy of General Dentistry. It is the highest recognition the Academy of General Dentistry has to honor dentists who have made outstanding contributions to the art and science of dentistry and who have demonstrated continual and exceptional efforts towards the advancement of dentistry. This award is given to one US dentist every other year.
In 2003, Dr. Albers was awarded “Masters of Esthetic Dentistry” from the Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry. It is the highest recognition the Journal has to honor dentists who have made the greatest contributions in advancements the area of esthetic dentistry. This award is given to one dentist worldwide each year.
In 2004, Dr. Albers was awarded “LIfetime Service Award ” from the Academy of Cosmetic and Adhesive Dentistry. It is the highest recognition the Academy can give and Dr. Albers is the first to receive it.
In 2005, Dr. Albers gave prestigious lectures to the Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (the oldest and most respected dental group in the country) and the Pacific Society of Prosthodontics (one of the most respected group of restorative dentists on the west coast. In 2007, Dr. Albers moved this practice to a large modern office at 1100 Sonoma Avenue in Santa Rosa for the purposes of providing his patients an office with the highest level of state-of-the-art equipment and to provide a teaching site to train local dentists the newest restorative procedures.

Harry Albers was born in Holland. At two, after World War II when much of Holland was destroyed and the family was unable to find housing, the family immigrated to Windsor, Ontario, Canada, and moved to Berkeley, California. There he completed his secondary education. He attended the University of Santa Clara, majoring in mathematics and transferred to the University of California at Berkeley to complete his undergraduate education. He earned a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, graduating Phi Beta Kappa. At UCLA Dental School, he did research, worked in community dental programs, served as student body president, and graduated with numerous awards, including many for leadership and public service.
Dr. Albers completed a general practice residency at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in San Francisco. He taught fixed prosthodontics at the University of California Dental School in San Francisco and taught operative dentistry at the University of the Pacific Dental School in San Francisco. In 1987, he limited his teaching to postgraduate dental education.
During the past twenty-five years he has written several dental texts and lectured extensively on cosmetic dentistry, tooth-colored restoratives, direct and indirect veneers, bonded posterior restorations, fixed prosthodontics, temporization, impression techniques, and other aspects of clinical dentistry. His best selling text, Tooth Colored Restoratives, widely acclaimed as the most comprehensive clinical text on cosmetic and adhesive dentistry, is in its eighth edition and has been translated into two foreign languages.
Dr. Albers offers numerous lectures and hands-on courses through various educational groups worldwide.Over the past twelve years Dr. Albers has helped organize 550 dentist-graduates from these study groups into the Academy of Cosmetic and Adhesive Dentistry (ACAD). This allows long-term clinical monitoring of restorative materials in dental practices by similarly trained operators. They play an active role in evaluating materials and techniques through their participation.
Dr. Albers is editor of the ADEPT Report, a highly acclaimed quarterly newsletter to update dental professionals on advances in adhesive and cosmetic dentistry.
Cosmetic dentist in Santa Rosa, Dr. Albers maintains a private practice in Santa Rosa, California, where he has lived since 1978. He has a lovely daughter, Saundra, who helps him with his courses.
